Talk about a uniquely simple business; I Want to Draw a Cat for You is a company that Steve Gadlin created to make a few extra bucks. His cat drawing business took off like crazy, so much so that Steve retired from drawing cats for a while.
Sharpie used for “I Want to Draw a Cat for You” Designs
Don’t worry, check out the “I Want to Draw a Cat for You” website and you will see that Steve has his Sharpie back in hand, drawing your favorite cat sketch. He will randomly draw using his creativity, or let you tell him what you want for a few extra dollars.
Gadlin entered the Shark Tank singing “I Want to Draw a Cat for You” rap leaving the Sharks laughing hysterically. The funnyman not only draws the wild cat drawings, but he also has his web series based in Chicago called “Steve Gadlin Star Makers.”
Steve Gadlin doesn’t look like a rapper or the funny man that he is. He looks like an engineer, but his wild suites on his show paint a different picture (No pun intended). His dancing is entertaining but would fit right at home at a nursing home dance.
The I Want to Draw a Cat for You website is well done, as is the other sites featuring his products and services.
Pricing for I Want to Draw a Cat for You
The “I Want to Draw a Cat for You” drawings run from $9.95 to $29.95 and take approximately four to six weeks to for delivery to your door. His business is almost entirely profit as he uses a piece of paper and a sharpie pen. He sends it out in a custom envelope.
The first three years allowed him to sell about 1,200 pictures. After selling 100 drawings, he reached out to Groupon, and he sold out 1,000 drawings in a few days.
He fully expected to be rejected by the Sharks, but Kevin O’Leary went out first, while Mark Cuban jumps in and makes an offer before Barbara Corcoran and Daymond John can make an offer.
Steve is an ambitious guy, and he’s written 200 celebrities tell them that they are great, and he would love to have a Volkswagen Beetle. He got a few rejection letters, but no Volkswagen. This guy has fun getting rejected which is why he ended up getting a deal with Mark Cuban, who got up and did the “I Want to Draw a Cat for You” dance with Steve Gadlin.
Steve Gadlin ran his own Affiliate program for his Cat Drawing business, but is no longer running the program.
