A Mission to Focus on Christ

I am on a mission to focus on Christ. It’s not easy to stay focused on Him, but it is getting easier. The process is helping me to help others to know Christ, which is the mission of my Church.

Part of having a mission to focus on Christ is to look past what is of this world. Fortunately, I’ve surrounded myself with people and a church who share in this mission.

Many denominations and even non-denominational church communities are focused on current events. They are focused on political and social agendas and not the Gospels. They mean well, but they are pulling away from Christ.

The world is constantly tugging at me, attempting to derail my mission to focus on Christ. I am steadfast with conviction, seeking Him.

Constant Prayer in a Mission to Focus on Christ

I am in constant prayer, seeking His guidance. I constantly ask Him what He wants for me, being careful to stay focused on Him and not what others might suggest.

God provides an abundance of opportunities to focus on Him. They happen when you least expect it and often necessitate a change of plans. Other times, they are right before us, and we don’t see them.

Those missed opportunities to focus on Christ remind us to be vigilant in future instances, helping us step up and grow.

My Spiritual Gifts

Part of my mission to focus on Christ is wrapped in understanding what my spiritual gifts are and gravitating toward them. The door is constantly opening for me to do more, but I know that I need to do what I do well and leave the extra for someone else who does that well.

I know that I can’t fix anyone, that I am powerless to carry that out, and that I need to let God manage my life, as it is chaos if I attempt to control it.

Prayer:

Dear Father, I’m so blessed by all your work in and around me. I know I don’t deserve it, and I’m forever grateful for the opportunity. Please continue to use me and help develop me to be the kind of person you want me to be. Please use me to help others become what you want them to be. Please show me the next single step to be closer to you.

In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
