Steve Jobs
Jobs walks through his entire history of the development of Apple and his vision along with Steve Wozniak, who founded the company and actually had employee #1 badge much to the dismay of Jobs who was number 2.
It’s clear, Jobs was a very unique personality to the point where he was difficult to work with, something that many entrepreneurs are accused of, even myself.
I’m only just past the first 100 pages, already it’s one of the best books that I’ve read in quite a long time. I think it’s because I can connect with so much, the thoughts and the feelings of the stages developing the company.
What’s different is the obsession with being a vegetarian and his religious practices. I can’t quite connect with that.
The story is full of highs and lows, literally highs for Jobs, something that I’ve done without as well. Still, to the day he died, Jobs believed that the drugs helped his vision. I think he could have done it naturally using other strategies.
I found his relationship with Atari, extremely interesting. Many of you won’t remember Pong; I remember the first day I played the game and many days after that. We set in front of the console TV forever.
I also remember using the Apple II in the School library. They talk about it being White or beige in color, but ours was brown, the keyboard was built-in to the unit and it had its own monitor.
I’ll be writing more about this book as I learn more. I wish I would have spent more time studying Jobs before this, he’s an extremely interesting character. I've never really paid attention to him, I've never been an Apple user until recently.
