For much of my life, it felt like I was either racing ahead on a bullet train or watching everything crash like a train wreck. Stability always seemed out of reach.
But in 2018, something shifted. I began to build on a new foundation — faith in Christ.
Finding the Bedrock
Jesus said,
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”
— Matthew 7:24
For years, I searched for stability in my own strength. But I found it only when I moved from being just a believer — or even a fan — to being a follower of Christ. That small step of faith became the bedrock of lasting change.
Rooted in Christ
One of the turning points for me was going through Rooted, a ten-week discipleship experience at church. God used that season to completely transform my walk with Him. My relationships, my work, and even my daily outlook began to shift.
The joy I found in Christ started overflowing into the people around me. Others noticed the change, and some began to grow in their own faith because of what God was doing in me.
Even a Little Faith is Enough
Jesus also said,
“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed… nothing will be impossible for you.”
— Matthew 17:20
I don’t claim to have great faith, but I’ve discovered that even a little faith in a great God changes everything.
A Prayer
Lord, thank You for being the bedrock I can build my life on. Teach me to follow You daily, not just as a believer but as a disciple. Take the little faith I have and use it to bring joy, healing, and hope to others. Amen.
