Creating consistent patterns in our daily life is challenging for most of us, primarily when we are working for ourselves and not for a company. We Lack consistency of healthy habits is undoubtedly going to derail us. The need to chase short-term money gets in the way of building long-term passive income.

Some of us lack consistent patterns in our daily life due to outside interference. Maybe it is your ex-spouse who seems to thrive at disrupting your agenda, or you have an addictive habit that sucks you in and eats up your time.

Consistent Patterns that interrupt life

Addictions come in many forms outside of the usual unhealthy habits such as drinking alcohol and messing with drugs. You might be addicted to television, gambling or even focusing on obsessions. The key is recognizing these distractions and finding support to get over them. I participate in a program called Celebrate Recovery through my Church which helps me do weal issues in my daily walk. We focus on hurts, habits, and hangups the keep us from being who we are.

I recently had surgery on my shoulder. Quite a few people say it is the worst place to have surgery. The pain before the surgery kept me up at night for several months. I would get maybe an hour of sleep if lucky.

Post-surgery isn't much fun either. The muscles are atrophied not able to support the shoulder without a brace. You are unable to lift, write or do anything that pays the bills. That's where I am at right now. I am struggling to recover from all the downtime and need help to overcome this challenge.

Unfortunately, the work is not presently available, as I am not sure that there are those that know I am available. And, at the same time, I need to be focusing on Consistent patterns to create more passive income to support my family and me through periods where I am unable to work.

Sure, if I would have had just the rotator cuff cleaned out, I would be good to go, but I have four screws holding my shoulder together, and that requires being extremely careful. Being careful includes when I am sleeping because that is one of the most dangerous times to undo the damage repair in the shoulder.

Sleep disruption interrupts consistent patterns

Again, I find sleeping difficult, and sometimes impossible. Consistent patterns in our daily life end up being disrupted by the lack of sleep. In my case, I see myself struggling to write, to communicate and to successfully seek out the work I need to survive and to thrive a the moment.

All of those things and more work to build up against your ability to work towards building consistent patterns in our daily life. They drain on you, and in the end, the only option is for you to find ways to overcome all the challenges that keep you from getting what you want and need most out of life.

I am thankful that consistent patterns in my daily life include being a member of a life group, Bible study and a Celebrate Recovery study group. Not only that but I make it a consistent habit to be in Church every Sunday and say many prayers throughout the day. My walk as a Christian helps me to deal with the adversity on a daily basis.
I have two daily prayers that are the beginning of this strategy. One of them is the Serenity prayer, a prayer that anyone who is in Alcoholics Anonymous or a 12 Step narcotics program will know. I use the prayer that is specific to Celebrate Recovery. I am not an alcoholic or a narcotic abuser, but the Serenity prayer is perfect for anyone who has any struggle in life.

The Serenity Prayer – Consistent Patterns

I include the prayer in this post so that you will have it. Consider saying it daily before you start the day, or anytime you feel the need. The Serenity Prayer is perfect for consistent patterns in our daily life.

  • The Serenity Prayer

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardship as a pathway to peace; taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will; so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with you forever in the next.”
– Amen

So, consistent behavior doing productive activities is paramount to our success. Focus on achieving one step at a time, so much so that you have a burning desire to make sure you keep on doing the activity that is sure to produce positive results over the long haul.

You might be thinking that this post is rather intense. It is, and it is a self-reflection, but what about you? Are you honest about who you are and what you want out of your life? Are you willing to do whatever it takes? I'm talking about right now, not yesterday. Today is what matters and the days to come. It is our actions that will determine the remaining life we have here on earth.

Healthy Consistent Patterns

Going forward, we want consistent patterns in our daily life that are healthy, productive and good for all. We can have a burning desire for personal success and at the same time focus on being good stewards of our friends, family, and community.

I know that I am far from perfect. I make mistakes every day as I work to overcome my flaws. Having people around you who will offer encouragement and support is essential. I've found those people at church. But, I need more than just those at church to succeed.

Now, I need to find more clients to help me catch up on my obligations that are holding me back. And, I am going to continue to do those things that will provide long-term security.

Let me know if you have a project, big or small, that you need help getting done. Help me get the work I need and solve the problems you need to be addressed.
