Think God Won’t Give You More Than You Can Handle? Think Again

How many times have you heard someone tell you that “God won't give you more than you can handle?” Probably quite a few times, and it is a hard pill to swallow, especially when you are struggling.

It's usually someone using it as a biblical reference incorrectly. The idea that God won't give you more than you can handle is contradictory to the Bible.

You would not need God in your life if he never gave you more than you can handle. For that matter, we wouldn't need anyone else. That's not the case.

So what does the Bible say, and where do people get confused? IN 1 Corinthians 10:13 you will find that God won't let temptation come over you without a choice.

He won't allow you to be tempted by evil without having an option that is good and just. Despite that option, we find most people will take the temptation, but there a few that don't and won't.

Regardless, God gives us more than we can handle so that we look to him for guidance and support. He created us to join and be with others, not alone. So, the idea that God won't give us more than we can handle sounds good at first but is contradictory to the truth.

Furthermore, we neglect to understand that when tempted, we have an option to take a better path that leads us to freedom instead of bondage in evil.

The Bible does not say “God Won't Give You More than You Can Handle”

Notice that the Bible does not say “God will tempt you?” The Bible says God won't let temptation happen without having a choice so that you have free will.

The more I study the Bible, the more I realize how often we interpret scripture wrong, which is not helpful to those who need His word most.

God ensures that any temptation in front of us is not greater than our ability to resist through free will.

No other reference exists that says God won't give us more than we can handle in the Bible.
