Temptation – You Have Got a Way Out

Temptation - You Have a Way Out

Most people believe God won't give you more than you can handle, but He won't allow a temptation greater than you can manage without a way out.

The Bible verse on Temptation is 1 Corinthians 10:13, which says you have a way out when tempted. God will push you beyond your comfort zone, and He pushes me beyond my comfort zone daily, at the same time giving me an alternate path.

Temptation in the Bible – 1 Corinthians 10:13

1 Corinthians 10:13 NLT says, “The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.”

Having the carrot dangled, especially when you think, “I can just do it this one time, and then I will stay focused on what is the right way,” leaves us coming back for more.

Anxiety when you are Tempted

Anxiety escalates, interfering with all other areas of life, and often causing lies done to protect those we care about most but causing destructive hurt.

The only way out is to start talking the alternative path, the choice that might seem a harder path to follow at first, but a liberating path that saves us from the struggles that we can't see at the moment.

It is amazing at how much joy comes when you commit to taking the alternate route. An overwhelming comfort almost always comes over me when I fully commit to the alternate path, as the angst disappears with this struggle, until the next one we face.

As time goes by, we will face more of these situations with less temptation than before as we become accustomed to facing challenges like these.

Keep taking the alternate path, staying humble, and avoiding pride. God will provide us the way that with far greater rewards.

I remember as a kid experiencing so many surprises that I did not see coming. The closer I get to Christ, I am finding that those same surprises are once again popping up in my life.

If you resist temptation, and you choose the alternate path, you get to experiences those cool and exciting surprises that I used to know. I bet you know what I am talking about, don't you?
