I want to make money online. I want to sit in front of my computer and write in my blog while people buy stuff through my affiliate links. I want to be one of the superstar bloggers.
Does that sound like what’s going through your head? If you want to make money online, you can do everything that you want to do, but you have to be tenacious to get what you want. It’s not easy as writing a few blog posts and having your blog go to the top. Many of the best bloggers out there have spent five years building their content to thousands of pages in their sites.
Top bloggers who make money online didn’t make anything at first, in fact many report that the first eight months were without revenue at all and many of them have been blogging for many years before they start to see any substantial revenues.
I’ve been blogging for three years now, and I can tell you it’s been a long road, but I also have learned some things that would have saved me a ton of time. Things like what’s the best platform to use.
For many years I blogged in Joomla, what a mistake. I’ve been using WordPress for almost a year now, and what a difference. Of course, I’ve switched over to the right template, Genesis, which offers me a great SEO platform and gets my pages indexed fast.
Still, the Genesis template only puts the right format in place. It wasn’t until I started blogging daily, actually twice a day that I noticed the positioning in search engines change. Within a few weeks it seemed as though my articles were getting indexed instantly.
So if you want to make money online, you have to be tenaciously focused on your goal. You have to think of this as a business just like anything else. Take it seriously and it will take you seriously.
