A daily routine that completes your day, every day.

What does it take to have a daily routine that completes your day, every day? Developing a healthy routine is complex, yet it is extremely rewarding when we commit to living by that routine no matter what.

Healthy daily routines help us identify the things that hinder us from having the best life possible, and you’ll be surprised at what kinds of things keep you from living well.

I’m in Las Vegas for the GrowWithVideoLive conference by Think Media. I drove out and arrived on Friday night, a full four days before the first event of the conference.

My trip started with driving from my home over 1800 miles away, straight through the mountains in Colorado, and only taking a three-hour nap along the way.

Usually, my day would include a liter of Diet Pepsi, but I stayed away given the high cost of 20 oz bottles along the way. I felt great and even stayed away from Diet Pepsi for three days upon arrival, walking daily, and then I found the 2-liter bottle at CVS for a great price.

Out goes the extremely relaxing trip, and in comes the anxiety and less than a whole night's sleep.

I also watched my routine go out the door, and now I know I need to eliminate Diet Pepsi. It impacts my mindset, which interferes with productivity and routine. It’s time to hydrate with more water, as I am more in tune with the routine and do not want the caffeine kick to cause roller coasters.

2022 was a healthy year for me. On average, I walked over five miles daily. With a better frame of mind and physical conditioning, I increased productivity. I had more strength and desire to accomplish my daily goals and rhythm, but I let it slide when I found out my mother had six months to live.

I dropped my daily routine, shut my business down, and committed to spending at least 100 days straight with my mother. She only lasted six weeks before her body shut down, and we lost her.

At that point, my dad insisted that he did not want to go to a nursing home, so I moved back to my childhood home and took care of him until He passed six months later in late 2023.

My life was excellent before making these decisions to be with my parents(which were the right decisions). That said, my health suffered as I lost my routine and the focus on developing myself.

My church was my life before this, involving more than full-time hours. I led multiple groups, and I loved being there practically every day.

My mother would say that I was married to my church, and I would agree, as that was my best marriage. I had had three legal marriages before turning my life to Christ.

So, how does this relate to a daily routine that completes your day? It has everything to do with it.

I still could have adjusted my daily routine to fit my responsibilities that weren’t in my life previously. I bet you can relate to what I am sharing.

We all have distractions that pull us away from a routine that will help us live our best lives. We like to think that others keep us from having that life, but the truth is that we are the ones that keep us from having that life. We may not have it the way we want it, but we can maximize every day if we remove the distractions with things as simple as Diet Pepsi that mess with our minds.

I realize that I need to pay more attention to my health and get back to walking, which is something being in Las Vegas is forcing me to do.

Will I keep the routine when I get home? Stay tuned, and let’s see how long it takes me to get into a daily routine that completes my day.
