Connect With Like-Minded People

How many times have you met an entrepreneur who tells you that they have a great product, but they can't tell you what it is because they don't want anyone to steal their idea? I would bet almost everybody has had this encounter at least a couple of times. You might even be the entrepreneur that has said those very words to someone else.

The thought is that if the idea is let out of the bag, the person that has been told the idea will stop the presses and run out and do what entrepreneur A is planning to do.

Let's face it, your odds of winning the jackpot in the lottery are most likely greater than someone taking your idea and implementing it before you get it done. If you don't tell anyone about your idea or your product, you're never going to get anywhere fast.

I've always said that the best barrier to entry for any start-up business is that you have to take action to make it real, and few people are willing to take action. I've never worried about anybody stealing my idea, and I can't say that it's ever happened to me.

If you're a new entrepreneur you need to secure all the help you can get. If you're a seasoned entrepreneur you still need all the help you can get, and the new trend is to use cooperative competition to sell your products, especially when it comes to Internet Marketing. The internet marketers setup affiliate programs and then offer generous residual commissions to their competitors for selling their products and services.

Another great reason to connect with like-minded people in your niche is to see what they are doing, what kinds of products and services they are selling. Pay attention to not necessarily what they say they are doing, but focus more on what they are actually doing. If you can figure that out, you can improve your skills faster and be more confident that you are headed in the right direction.
