About Cell Helmet
CellHelmet pitches their Cell Phone Protection case in Shark Tank. They demonstrate that no matter what cell phone case you have, your phone can be damaged. What differentiates their product is the guarantee that comes with it. They mostly are underwriting an insurance policy for repair on the phone.
CellHelmet repair guarantee for your phone
The CellHelmet guarantee will repair your phone within three days if you damage it with a $50 deductible. The company offers different products after Shark Tank, such as their Liquid Glass which works with any phone. The guarantee is for up to $100 towards glass repair for the plus version and $300 glass repair for the Pro version.

In four months leading up to Shark Tank, CellHelmet turns out 1,300 units generating $60,000 revenue. Now CellHelmet offers Liquid Glass, a product that they say makes the glass stronger. A video on their website demonstrates what happens when they drop a pinball breaks the glass from 2′ without Liquid Glass. Then, they apply Liquid Glass and go all the way to 9’4″ to break the glass.
I checked out some of the reviews on the CellHelmet case, and some of the comments said that the phone case is not as good as other cases. One person complained that it yellows, and another said the phone case had bubbles. Maybe that’s why the company opted to promote the liquid glass product instead? After all, they are underwriting the warranty of the glass.
What do the Shark Tank Investors say about Cell Helmet?
- Mark Cuban – gets the business model, but the competition has more assets and will easily crush them. He is out.
- Daymond John – Daymond John sees too much competition in the business model, and he is out.
- Kevin O’Leary – believes this is a horrible idea, and he is out.
- Lori Griener – also wants out not liking the business.
- Robert Herjavec – doesn’t like the commoditization of the case business, so he is out.
Cell Helmet after Shark Tank
Cell Helmet continues to evolve, adding new products and services like their liquid glass protectant. They modified the policy and are a leader in cell phone protection. I’m not sure if they are better off not getting a deal with the Sharks, or with a deal from the Sharks. Either way, they appear to be doing rather well for the predicted outcome from the Sharks.
