Building a Solid Online Pressence Takes Time

To be a great online marketer, you have to be willing to put in the time and effort necessary. If you take a look at any of the super affiliate bloggers, you are going to find they never made money for years of their effort.

This is like practically any other business. You have to build a base before you open the flood gates to making money. In the online world, the term sweat equity is a critical one, because no matter how much money you have, odds are it is going to take you pretty much the same time to turn a profit.

Let's put this into perspective, a site has to have at least 250 pages of good index content to be considered a medium sized site by Google. That means that you would have to write for two/thirds of a year to get to that point, but that still most likely won't put you into the kind of traffic that you need to be a real player I the blogging world.

If you look at any of the major blog sites, especially the ones that are making money, they average around 5,000 content pages. That means that you would have to write 10 pages a day for 500 days to get to that point.

I'm not saying this to discourage you from doing it, quite to the contrary. Where else can anyone have a chance at teaching themselves how to become a millionaire? If you take the time to build a site with solid content and you stay at it, you will make money. You will figure out the combination that makes it work, and you can do it with practically no investment other than sweat equity.

Major players typically have other sites in development that are more targeted to specific products and services along the way, and that is how they are able to fund their passion, which is often their own blog and how ultimately they end up writing about how they have learned to make money online.

Every day that you put behind you thinking about building an online business, is one more day that you add to the time it takes you to really build an online business.
