Each day begins with a single step. Then comes another, and another. The question is: are we taking the right steps toward God’s path, or are we letting one false move pull us off course for the rest of the day?
All of us start somewhere. Some mornings we seem to head in the right direction, but often we find ourselves wandering. Sometimes, by God’s grace, we course-correct without realizing it. Other times, we keep walking down a road that feels obvious in the moment but ultimately leaves us stuck.
What if we began every morning with a single step toward Christ? That first step could change the tone of the entire day. And even if we stumble, we always have the chance to turn back—God never stops inviting us to walk with Him.
The Power of One Step
Life is a journey toward a destination. But too often, we treat it like a ride where we’re just along for whatever happens. No map, no intentional direction—just hoping it works out.
But Scripture reminds us that God wants more for us:
“Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” – Psalm 119:105 (NLT)
When we walk with Him, each step becomes purposeful. Our “single step” isn’t about ambition or self-will—it’s about surrender. Step by step, He shapes us into men and women who reflect Christ in what we say, think, and do.
A Daily Invitation
So where is your next step leading you today? Are you walking into old habits and distractions, or are you asking Christ to guide your steps toward what is good, right, and lasting?
Every moment is an opportunity to begin again. All it takes is a single step.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for guiding my steps even when I wander. Help me start each day with one step in Your direction, and give me the courage to keep walking with You when I’m tempted to stray. May my path reflect Your Word and lead me closer to the life You have planned for me. Amen.
