I've got a great new section in my site that focuses on the Laws of Success and one of those laws, the Pleasing Personality really hit home for me. It caused me to self-analyze how I appear to others and got me to thinking that many of us, especially entrepreneurs send mixed signals.
Very few people really know me. We judge people based on what they wear, what kind of car they drive, where they live, what they say, what they do, how they look at you and on many more merits.
Where I live, driving a Ferrari around is probably not a great way to present a Pleasing Personality but if I kept my Ferrari in Las Vegas, nobody would think twice about the type of car I drove.
If I shaved and would use my suits on a daily basis, I would command more respect in my hometown. The suits alone would project enough authority and polish even if I changed nothing else.
If I was in Las Vegas wearing a suit would not command aPleasing Personality, rather it would only state that I'm definitely there for business either working at a casino or attending a convention, but trendy casual would be much more likely to trend a Pleasing Personality there.
Any outward projection of a Pleasing Personality would be destroyed if I spoke poorly in either my hometown or in Las Vegas.
On the other hand, it is difficult for a person to develop a Pleasing Personality who may be well spoken, but poorly presents themselves. People with weight problems clearly understand this.
While I've only briefly touches on the Pleasing Personality, I plan on doing extensive commentary on this subject under the Pleasing Pleasing Personality. I believe I have a lot to gain in this area and I want to share what I discover with you.
