Scripture:
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.” — Isaiah 55:8
Reflection:
When I first walked into church, I didn’t believe God could accept me. My past was messy, and my doubts were heavy. But instead of rejection, I found love. The very place I thought would turn me away opened its doors, and that’s when my journey into God’s Word began.
Reading the Bible cover-to-cover changed how I saw Him — not once, but continually. Every time I return to Scripture, the Holy Spirit shows me more. God’s Word is complete, but my understanding is always growing. That’s why knowing Scripture isn’t just about facts; it’s about relationship.
We cannot fully comprehend who God is. He is too vast, too holy, too beyond us. Yet, through His Word, His people, and His Spirit living in us, we experience Him daily. The Holy Spirit moves us to do what we could never do on our own, shaping us to be more like Christ.
God is not who I once thought He was — distant, judgmental, or uninterested. He is far greater, far nearer, and far more loving than I ever imagined. My journey is to keep seeking Him, dying to old ways, and living in the joy He gives.
What about you? Is God who you think He is, or is He inviting you to discover more of Him today?
Prayer:
Father, thank You for revealing Yourself through Your Word and by Your Spirit. Forgive me for the times I’ve put You in a box or doubted Your acceptance of me. Open my eyes to see You more clearly, and give me the humility to keep growing in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
