In 1995 I started what has turned out to be the largest company I have ever done. It happened when I broke down and bought a computer after my ex-wife had pestered me for months to get one and connect to the Internet
On a Friday night, we signed up with AOL at about 7 PM and turned it on. I even borrowed a modem from a friend because at that time, computers didn't come with them.
I spent the next 24 hours working non-stop, I had actually started my very first online business with little money and watched it turn into a company that now employs hundreds of people and does nearly $50,000,000.00 a year in sales.
That business was started by building a website on AOL with no tools and very little money. I spent the next two years working on the content of the site, and never spent a dime other than the subscription to AOL.
Anyone has the ability to start a business with little money if they just have a strong enough burning desire to succeed. You don't even need your own computer; you can get that at the local library! With all the resources available, it comes down to you deciding that you are ready to succeed no matter what it takes.
The only person that stops you from starting a business is you! If you have a computer and an Internet connection in your home, you already have an advantage over others; you don't even have to go to the library to get started!
How do I start businesses with little money? I find a need where I think I can make a difference and start working to build a solution. That can be in a highly fragmented marketplace, or someplace that is highly competitive. The important component is that I have a better solution that is more precise, cheaper or better than what is currently offered and can convince people to use my solution.
If you don't know what to do, just start blogging about what you are passionate about in your life like a hobby. If you don't have a hobby, blog about what you dream about. Learn how to make your dream happen, and tell people about the process that you are going through to make that dream happen.
I have spent my entire life, doing just that. When I do a start-up, I'm learning, just like everyone else that does a start-up.
That's how you start a business with little money!
