Opportunity – Making Every Moment Count

Opportunity is that moment when you have a good shot at attaining your goal. You’re ripe to advance, but you have to make a decision to take action. If in your head and your heart you feel it, you have to go for it.

The only opportunities that turn out to be mistakes are the ones that you never took because you were too afraid to take action. If you take action on an opportunity and it doesn’t work out, you still learned something from it, you made a decision and you can’t regret the action.

Entrepreneurs are all about capitalizing on opportunity. We know without seizing the moment, we won’t make it. It’s a calculated risk that’s worthwhile every time.

Sometimes we need to create our own opportunities. Many people would call that luck, but really we are only positioning ourselves in a place where luck can happen. We have to find an environment that offers us chances that others would not get.

The saying goes, “you can’t win if you don’t play!” That’s pretty much what entrepreneurship is about. If you don’t take action, you’re never going to get what you dream about. Are you willing to take action?

People who accept their position in life are people that never find opportunity. They never get lucky because they position themselves to keep on getting what they have been getting.

If you’re unemployed and you don’t look for a job, do you think you’re going to get one? Talking about it won’t create the opportunity. Just like entrepreneurs who keep dreaming about having a nice life, a nice sports car, or the ability to travel wherever will never be able to do so, unless you do the work necessary to make your dreams a reality.

My dream, like many others was to own a Ferrari. For the past nine years, I’ve had mine sitting in my garage. I look at it every day and use it to motivate me to do more and be better than I was yesterday. That car motivated me to do things I never thought I was capable of.  The ability to obtain it made me believe, a guy that barely graduated from high school, that I could do anything that I set my mind to.

I set my agenda, nobody else does and when I believe in myself I’m able to take advantage of unbelievable opportunities. Never allow someone else to set your own agenda. I’ve driven my own path and then let someone else drive when I felt they could do a better job.  They drove me into a Mac truck! Set your own agenda and don’t let anyone else drive.

What are you going to do to make your dreams come true? Are you willing to do whatever it takes? Will you create the opportunities to get what you want from your life? It’s really up to you.
